The Chlarsons made their annual holiday trip to Bowling Green and the Music City Bowl. They came down on the 26th. We checked out progress on the new house. The good news is there does seem to be progress. Kevin, Jen, Hayden, and I made the trip down to the Music City Bowl (Clemson v. Kentucky) Sunday night. As forecast, it was cold. Fortunately we were reasonably well prepared. It was Hayden's first trip (my sixth) to the Bowl game. We are pretty sure it won't be his last. Annee and Heather watched the Hannah Montana movie in the warmth of our living room.

Christmas
We had a low key, but very nice Christmas Eve. We spent the day cleaning, shooting baskets, and riding bike. The basketball hoop was easier to buy than it was to put together! As is custom when we are in Bowling Green, we made some pizza for supper and then went to the Christmas Eve service at church. After church we came home to open presents. Below are pictures from the festivities. Santa stopped by sometime during the night and dropped off some more good stuff. Hayden woke up at 4:20 and seemed to think it was time to see if Santa had come. Fortunately Heather talked him in to laying down for a while first. The Kash family came over for Christmas dinner. The Chlarsons come tomorrow and we'll head to the Music City Bowl on Sunday. Brrr...

Christmas Break
Christmas break is here!! Heather (with quite a bit of help from Annee and some from Hayden) has been baking. Hayden and I put together a basketball hoop today. We have a little bit more unpacking from the move left to do. Christmas Eve service is tomorrow at 6 and then we will come back to the house and open presents. The Kash family is coming over for Christmas dinner and the Chlarson's are coming down on Saturday. The last day of school before break was pajama day at Briarwood. Pictures are below!

Oh Christmas Tree
We finally have our Christmas tree decorated. As you can see below, Annee and Hayden also have small trees in their rooms. Annee's Christmas dance recital went well on Saturday. Hayden and I had a fine time in Nashville watching WKU dump Vanderbilt in hoops on Friday. Annee and Heather gave the Princess and the Frog two thumbs up so the weekend was a success. This week is finals week at WKU so I will have a bit of grading to get done. Everything else seems to have slowed down a bit so we should have a chance to catch up on some things.

Radio City Christmas Spectacular
We got in the Christmas spirit with Annee and Hayden's Christmas musical at church on Wednesday and then last evening with a trip down to Nashville for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes. It is a very good show. Hayden and I are back in Nashville tonight for the WKU-Vandy game while Annee and Heather are going to the Princess and the Frog. Below are Annee and Hayden after the church performance and then after the Rockettes.

Keeping Busy
Somehow we have found a way to stay busy in December. The start of basketball season has something to do with that. Annee and Hayden have had two practices so far that have gone pretty well. The WKU MBB and WBB seasons are also in full swing. Hayden, his buddy Patrick, and I made it to the final football game of the year. It was a good game but ended like the other 11 before it. Annee's Girl Scouts/Brownies group had a float in the Warren County Christmas parade. We have our tree up but not decorated yet. Annee won a bike in a drawing at school. It pays to eat out sometimes. The drawing was from a Briarwood night at CiCi's Pizza. Tonight we have the church Christmas musical, tomorrow we are going to the see the Rockettes in Nashville, Friday Hayden and I are back in Nashville for the Sun Belt Classic (WKU plays Vanderbilt), and Saturday is Annee's Christmas dance recital, a WBB game, and the Department Christmas party.

Closing Time
We are no longer homeowners. We closed on our (old) house on Wednesday and are now settling into our rental. We have everything moved over but still have quite a bit of settling in left to do. Below are some pictures of the highlights of our rental. Today is our 10th wedding anniversary!! Heather is celebrating by going shopping. She is very brave. Basketball practice starts Tuesday!
We have a pretty good sized kitchen. As you can see Hayden and Annee had eggs and toast for breakfast. We still have some putting away to do.
