Redwood Falls

After surviving the Mall of America we made our way to Grandma Ann's and Grandpa Jimmy's for the Redwood Invitational Golf Tournament weekend which also doubles as a mini family reunion. Annee and Hayden were able to see their cousin Craig and many of my cousin's children. In addition to seeing family and friends, one highlight was checking out the new aquatic center. The big kids (me and Paul) really enjoyed the water slides. My golf game sputtered a bit, but I did manage a third place finish in my flight. We getting pretty close to getting caught up on summer pictures. Just in time for the start of school - Hayden got his back to school haircut today.

A Place for Fun In Your Life

After leaving the lake on Monday (July6th) we ventured to the Twin Cities. We met Eddie (Scott Erie) and Heather's friend Terri (Heather taught with her for three years) for dinner before stopping in at the Mall of America. Made a return trip to MOA on Tuesday where we did our part in stimulating the Minnesota economy. The highlight for Annee and Heather was the American Girl Doll store, while Hayden loved the Lego store. Fortunately, there was an Eddie Bauer for Heather and lots of rides for me.

Life at the Lake Part II

Finally getting back to posting and have some ground to make up. Here are some more pictures at the lake. Had a very good time swimming, kayaking, tubing, and hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa.

The girls took turns riding in the cart contraption that Hayden build.

Annee paddling Dad to shore before sunset.

Hayden relaxing during a morning kayaking adventure.

Fishing with Grandma Peggy

The bald eagle that came and visit a tree just down from the cabin.

Finally the kids were done playing with the noodles so I could build a luxury raft.

Annee and Hayden on a 'trail' ride after the Gordon Good Neighbors Parade.

Ready for boating action.

Tubing fun

Hayden was busy making sure the fire was going strong.

On the Road Again & Life at the Lake Part I

We started our annual trek North on Thursday. Since we went to Nebraska and South Dakota during Christmas, we are just doing the Wisconsin and Minnesota stops of our normal tour. We spent Thursday night in Janesville, WI and made our annual stop at Fuddruckers. It is the closest thing that we have to an annual tradition. We made our way to Grandpa Cy and Grandma Peggy's cabin near Minong Friday afternoon and were able to squeeze in a stop at Taco John's on the way. We had a good time at the lake. Annee and Hayden enjoyed playing with Kate and Jenny (the four year old twins of Peggy's daughter Nicki and her husband John). Below are the first batch of pictures from the trip. More will follow.

Annee catching a "fake nap" on Day 1 of the road trip.

Evidently trying to get to the chocolate center can wear a guy out.

Ready to roll on Day 2.

A view of the lake from the deck.

Checking out the new treehouse built by Grandpa Cy.

The treehouse impressed children of all ages.

The water could be describe as refreshingly cool but that did little to stop water fun with noodles.
