The annual Briarwood Book Character Parade was this morning. Hayden went as the Old Lady Who Swallowed the Fly, while Annee was The Giving Tree. Hayden received rave reviews for his efforts, but Annee walked away with a prize for most creative costume. That meant that today started better than yesterday ended for her. She had quite a wipe out roller skating and ended up with a bruise near her eye. She is not looking forward to roller skating anytime soon.

More Snow, Hoops, and Grand Ole Opry
February has been flying by. After one more snow storm that led to four more snow days, we have been busy with basketball. Annee finished her season with a win on Saturday. Hayden finished the regular season 6-5 and is waiting for the playoffs to start. Both have been doing a good job and Hayden has been on a pretty good roll as of late. He has led or tied for the leading scorer for the past three games. Annee is busy delivering Girl Scout cookies. She sold 101 boxes and is signed up to work a couple of cookie booths. We also got A&H signed up for softball and baseball - this year will be kid pitch for both. We also made our first trip to the Grand Ole Opry this past Saturday. It was very good and left us wondering why we had waited so long. This is Love of Reading Week at Briarwood. Hayden read a short story he wrote last night as part of the author's cafe. Two students read from each class. Heather and I are looking forward to this week being over. She is the manager for the district academic team meet on Saturday. She has A, H, and myself volunteering for the quick recall matches. The Warren County Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner is that evening as well. Hopefully that will go well!
