Fall Sports Season Coming to a Close

The end of the Fall sports season is coming quickly.  Annee has just two more regular season games before the District Tournament next week.  The Drakes Creek 8th grade team is now 36-3 on the year.  They have played in four tournaments, winning two of them and finishing 2nd in the other two.  They won the Blue Devil Bash in Lebanon, TN this past weekend.  Hayden has four football games over the next two weeks.  They are now 5-1.  Their only loss was to Bowling Green (36-26).  They should win the next four games pretty handily.  Hayden played a couple of series in the last 8th grade game and is going to dress both 7th and 8th for upcoming games.  Playoffs start October 11th.

Middle School

Going to try to get back to blogging regularly again.  Here is the first post of middle school with brief updates.  Annee and Hayden started 7th grade which means that Heather is the only one at Briarwood for the first time in 7 years.  It also means that we get up a little bit earlier to get them to school by 7:10.  Annee and Hayden are in the same class for six classes including Algebra I.  We have been busy with football, volleyball, and cross country.  Annee is playing with the 8th grade volleyball team.  They are 21-1 on the year and finally beat South Warren which is the only team they have lost to in the last two years.  Hayden's football team is off to a 3-0 start but has their toughest two games coming up this week.  He is playing center again.  He is also running cross country when he finds time.  He ran a 14:49.26 (3k) at the first cross country meet of the year on Saturday.  The Drakes boys team won the middle school meet.  As time permits, I will catch up on some pictures from summer.

A&H Wrap Up County Basketball Seasons

Been far too long between posts so here is a post-season basketball update.  Hayden and the Magic finished 9-3 losing in the semi-finals of their league.  They had a player move away during the season and finished with just 6 kids.  He is still playing some travel ball with his Triple Threat team.  They have finished 2nd place in three of their four tournaments.

Annee's Hoosiers finished 12-1 and won their league championship.  The only loss was when Annee was playing volleyball in Tennessee.  The championship game was a bit of a nail biter.  We had a four point lead when Annee fouled out with 90 seconds left and managed to hold on to a one point victory.  Annee has volleyball tournaments the next two weekends.  Next weekend is in Huntsville, AL.
