The Reds ran their record to 3-0 last night with a 12-3 win over the Dodgers. The Dodgers had been unbeaten and had outscored their opponents 50-22 in four previous games. Hayden reached base in all three plate appearances. He walked twice and took one in the head. He scored twice. He now has a OBP of .714 in seven plate appearances. He is supposed to play again tonight if the weather cooperates. Annee opens up her season on Saturday.

Happy Easter
Easter festivities for the Lasleys started Saturday afternoon with a neighborhood egg hunt. The Easter Bunny came through again dropping gifts off and hiding some eggs for A&H to find Sunday morning before church. After church we decorated cupcakes to take to dinner at the Kash house. It would not feel like a holiday in Bowling Green without dinner with the Kashes.

Reds Run Record to 2-0
Hayden is now just one win away from matching his combined total for the past two seasons. The Reds beat the Cubs 2-1 in 7 innings. Hayden picked up his first hit in kid pitch with a single to center field in the bottom of the 6th. It was one of 5 hits for the Reds. He grounded out to second base in his first at bat. If weather permits, Annee will have softball practice again on Saturday. We are still waiting for her schedule.

Reds Open Season with Win
Hayden's Reds have won as many games as his Cubs did last year. They beat the Cardinals 11-5 on Monday. In his first kids pitch game, Hayden struck out and walked in his two plate appearances. Annee finally had a full softball practice as well. We are still waiting to hear when games start for her.

Spring Break - Lexington
After Cincinnati we made our way to Lexington. We visited Ashland (Henry Clay's Estate) and checked out UK on Friday. We met the Chlarsons on Saturday for an afternoon at Keeneland. Early afternoon showers led to a detour to the Lexington Brewing Company for a tour before we made it out to the track. Annee and Hayden were in charge of picking the horses and I was in charge of placing the bets. We ended up with a $6 profit for our efforts.
Spring Break - Cincinnati
We spent the last half of Briarwood's Spring Break taking a short trip to Cincinnati and Lexington. While in Cincinnati, we went to a Reds game, the Cincinnati Zoo, and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. The Reds came back from a 4-0 deficit to win 12-4. Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning and hit 104 miles per hour. We highly recommend the Freedom Center - it was particularly impressive.
